Medworxx announces Brant Community Healthcare System will use the Medworxx knowledge platform to support patient safety priorities and initiatives

TORONTO October, 2007 – Medworxx, the makers of a strategic software platform that hospitals use to communicate, aggregate, and analyze knowledge, is pleased to announce that Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) has joined the ever growing list of customers that rely on the Medworxx platform to support their knowledge platform. The BCHS will implement the Medworxx Learning Management System (LMS) for the development and delivery of staff education, in particular to advance and support their patient safety initiatives.

Medworxx’ customers use the Learning Management System to support the ongoing knowledge development of healthcare workers and to have access to the knowledge they need, when they need it, in order to continuously improve and provide the highest level of care. It also gives hospitals the ability to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements in real-time.

“BCHS has always had a strong focus on knowledge sharing and promotes a very positive learning environment”, said Joe Buller, Vice President, Resources & Development, Brant Community Healthcare System. “The Medworxx LMS empowers our employees to take charge of their professional development. Taking ownership of the learning environment means course content is developed within the organization. Managers can deploy department specific education and tests, having the confidence that all learning activities are being tracked and recorded. We anticipate that the tool will save us significant time, improve efficiency, and enhance organization-wide learning, all of which will contribute towards the improvement of patient safety.”

“The addition of the Brant Community Healthcare System to our family of customers is tremendous”, said Niels Tofting, Vice President Sales, Medworxx. “BCHS is beginning with a patient safety course and their mandatory review process; they will be able to automate everything from distributing the course and reviews, to their collection, marking, and scoring. This is just the first step; because they have invested in the Medworxx platform, BCHS has the ability to move beyond their learning environment and look to supporting other areas of their organization, such as document management.”
